The Fhada Tote

The story of Fàs began in the heart of the Highlands - Glencoe.

The Fhada Tote was the first bag I designed and made by hand before moving into production, shaped by the strength, stillness, and resilience of the land.

I photographed the first prototype in front of the Three Sisters - a place tied to family, memory, and the values that continue to guide this brand.

Inspired by the iconic peaks - each a symbol of strength, endurance, and understated beauty - The Fhada Tote carries forward the values at the heart of Fàs: thoughtful design, deep roots, and a quiet confidence meant to last.

Modern refinement meets raw material beauty

Named after Beinn Fhada – the easternmost of Glencoe’s Three Sisters – The Fhada Tote was designed to carry much, and last longer.

I hand-selected each piece of leather, drawn to hides with natural grain and texture that carried their own quiet beauty. Limited to only ten pieces, each Fhada Tote is a truly exclusive creation. Variations in tone and pattern mean no two bags are ever the same, echoing the individuality of its wearer.

Structured yet soft in hand, The Fhada Tote is made for those who carry with purpose. With an open silhouette, firm base, and generous proportions, it moves easily from daily routines to long travels. An interior zip pocket keeps essentials secure, while the detachable cross-body strap offers comfort and ease on the go. Two top handles allow for effortless hand or shoulder carrying.

I chose light gold hardware for its quiet sophistication - it complements the organic texture of the leather rather than overpowering it. Each bag is finished with thistle hardware at the base, a subtle nod to its roots and a reflection of where the story began. I also made the deliberate choice not to include any external logos; the material and silhouette are strong enough to speak for themselves.

As the first edition, The Fhada Tote represents where the story of Fàs began — a beginning that will continue to evolve, one piece at a time.
